Saudi Arabia’s Okaz newspaper reported Thursday that the country’s Tourism and National Heritage Authority will announce on Friday the launch of a tourism strategy, as part of preparations for Vision 2030.
The strategy seeks to promote the tourism sector, which is an important driver of the economy, as Saudi Arabia is determined to diversify the country’s sources of income.
In the same vein, the Saudi Authority has launched the National Tourism Monitoring Platform to electronically monitor the sector’s activities such as tourism and accommodation.
Thanks to this electronic monitoring, the national platform will be able to be a reliable centre for data and statistics on the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Ahmed bin Aqeel al-Khatib, chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Tourism and National Heritage, said the platform benefits the investor and the decision-maker.
The Authority has been given 90 days for tourism facilities to connect to the online platform that will help investors build their plans.
